  • Thats odd. I didnt know they can give birth thru there mouth!!

  • @UniqueMonique513 they don't actually "give birth" through their mouth. They pick up the fertilized eggs and hold them in their mouth until the babies are free swimming. Then they release them.

  • If u strip fry do it good that little fish are half eggs :S ill breed also malawi chiclids but never strip the fry

  • @hardbassssss actually when done at the right time all the yolk is gone and the fry are completely developed.

  • how old do the fry have to be to do this

and my fish just laid eggs how many days will it take them to hatch plz help me

  • @dakotab619 2 weeks is the average time to wait. you have to be more specific with the other question.

  • getting ready to strip my yellow. thanks for the info

  • If any one wants to see a very rare strain of cichlid go to my channel and dont forget to subscribe !!! :D

  • They don't have their egg sacks anymore. I fed them a little bit of finely crushed flakes but they weren't interested? Should I try feeding Hikari first bites soak it in aquarium water so it'll sink to them? Every time I come to feed them, they go under the sponge filter. Maybe there not used to me feeding them? Any other suggestions on how to feed them?

    Thanks.

  • @clintgv once they are free swimming and have used up their yolk sac you can start feeding them. You can use crushed up pellets or NLS Grow or whatever they can fit in their mouths. Make sure you remove any uneaten food. Water changes should be done weekly between 25-50% depending on stocking levels and tank size. Basically enough changes to keep nitrates around 20-30 ppm.
