The horse is not stiff he is passaging which is a dressage move. Its also Grand Prix and Olympic level.Only 1 percent of the horses in the world do it naturally. He is also swishing his tail because of consentration like satuame said.

Adn where does it say that there must be stiffness in passage? A swishing tail indicates tension in the back.

The stiffness is because of the movement their doing. The passage. This is from the 2006 WEG. Also, a swishing tail can also mean that a horse is concentrating.
