Both versions are very good, both versions have their qualities and drawbacks... I have no "favourite version".

CANADIAN FRENCH VERSION (sung by Martine Chevrier)
Regardez-moi
J'aurai tant de mal à former l'image
D'une femme idéale
Etre épouse, ce serait pourtant bien normal

J'aimerai tant

Mes parents seront meurtris

Pourquoi miroir réfléchis-tu sans me voir ?

  • Martine Chevrier is wonderful and Marie Galey well she sounds too young still she's a little pretty

  • I don't know which one is my favourite.

    CANADIAN FRENCH:

+ Excellent powerful and emotional version.

    - Martine Chevrier is too old for Mulan and too much syllables added

    FRENCH EUROPEAN

+ Cute version, poetic lyrics and good singer.

    - Marie Galey is too young, and her voice is a bit too a "popstar" voice when she goes in the upnotes.

  • European french sounds better :D

  • @bronfre290 Thanks!

  • ... Funny. The Canadian me tells me to prefer the Canadian French... But I like the European one..

  • @bricksailor93 There is not a huge difference. They are just different dialects, like American English and English from the U.K. There are different pronunciations for words and some slang that is not the same between the two. Canadian French also uses loan words from English more often whereas European French makes their own words. (Example- email. Canadian French: un email European French: un courrier électronique)

  • i prefer the european version's lyrics but i think the singer is definitely too young. i don't like the canadian singer's voice either but i prefer it to the european's. all in all though, i like the european version better

  • @JuanDVene It's tasty stuff. Seriously tho try the smarties. They are kind of like m&m's but 4 times better

  • @ShadowDancer00 Canadian chocolate? That is another type of chocolate i havent tried.

  • @JuanDVene It's called American ego XD. Personally I think Canada has some of the best chocolate I have ever tasted (smarties ftw!!!) and you can't forget the amazing maple syrup. But seriously i'm American and I don't understand half of what the US thinks.

  • I'll never understand what the US has against Canada.

  • I can't decide which one I like more. They're both great. But I have a question. I don't speak French very well, so maybe that's why I'm asking. What is the main difference between European French and Canadian French? Just curious.
