Wow, finally a real tribute...Amanda McBroom wrote this song for Pearl...But JJ'sfamily refused permission to use that name. Lucky for her. “Pearl” was MUCH harder to rhyme.Thank you from the bottom of my heart...And Janis will be forever "a piece of my heart"...
Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower
And you, its only seed...

@Wellch Unfortunately, that's true.

@DaveWollenberg ---Some of them do smoke...and just because she grew up in one did not meant that she stayed in one.
-
@Wellch If Janis grew up in a religious home, why would she take up cigarettes?

Bette hit #3 in Billboard, 6-28-80. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Divine Miss M! Have a blessed week!

Listened to this song over the years...many, many years...and I'm still crying by the end of the first verse!

@joepall323 What a maroon. Another know it all (that doesn't KNOW anything). You suffer from a fairly common mental illness. You are very vocal and think you are SO smart while the rest of us are SO dumb. You're like a child. Your anger must come from some past hurt that has manifested itself to focus on a goofy conservative "sense of loss" and nostalgia for a romanticized yesteryear (likely your sheltered childhood). Sad little man. The world has turned and left you behind.

A great tribute. Well done

Janis Joplin did grow up in a religious home. Not everyone knew that.

Excellent video and tribute to the late great Miss Joplin. She left us too soon.
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Love the song, but Joplin is complete garbage. Why do they always delete the negative comments? They must be Obama Democrats....

That's probably because until you showed up, there were no negative comments. Evidently you saw my channel and some of my other vids, and decided to bring your sorry troll ass over here and say something disrespectful.
