A record to see the activity monitor on a mac pro nehalem 2,26 Ghz 8 cores playing starcraft 2 in window mode.

All settings are high for the one linked to graphic card and ultra for those linked to processor.

Don't forget also that the quicktime recording is also taking processor percentage ...

To convert the video to youtube format the mac took 1min 43 seconds.

  • you need the 5xxx serie and it should work

  • What's your Mac set up?

  • @OrangeCrushUK

The mac setup is OSX 10.6.3 the config is written in the description.

  • so it seems sc2 doesn't use the hyperthreading processor too much... is sc2 optimized for multicore?

  • @yangeryanger

I assume sc2 is optimize for multicore because the process is well parsed thru the cores.

  • @xxfarcastxx what graphics card have you got?

  • @THECrazyguy243 very nice specs, your pc is a hell a lot better than the mac pro, hence no point to compare with apples or post it here. plus games run slower on lion osx.

  • what do you need to play the game in perfect graphic? just a mac pro?

  • @yangeryanger since snow leopard, the processes of all applications are automatically split up to support multithreading

  • I thought they didnt make SC2 for MACs!

  • @xxfarcastxx hi. you really can't, apple puts shitty graphics cards in its imacs (and even stock mac pros unless you upgrade). even though the imac is a desktop computer, apple puts in a laptop graphics card in the unit :x and entry level graphics card at that
