The unwarranted attacks on peaceful protesters places Oakland Mayor Jean Quan in shameful company with mayors like Chicago's Rahm Emanuel and other cities whose response to public expression of protest is repression rather than respect for the rights of free speech and assembly.

  • When history is written about the Occupy Movement, events that took place at OCCUPY OAKLAND on October 25, 2011, will be remembered as the day Mayor Jean Quan's RIOT POLICE used unnecessary force on peaceful protesters, and mainstream news was finally forced to report the truth!

Check out this MOVIE TRAILER to get a sense of the TENSION as the day began with families and residents marching in solidarity thorough downtown Oakland in broad daylight.

  • @GamingPalooza, Clearly, you were NOT there! Watching TV news, paid for by corporate advertisers, owned by the top 1% deliberately distorts perspectives! This MESS is happening because of OPPRESSION, which is what the arrests are re-INFORCING. I suggest you get your information elsewhere. Better yet, join us on the front lines. ~Peace

  • Thanks for your comments folks! @MeLuvDaDnB, if you don't think these historic events will be made into movies, think again! Perhaps the question is, how can each of us contribute to SOCIAL JUSTICE in our own creative ways? Credibility is RELATIVE when you consider who controls mainstream media, the police, and the government? I'm a music and film person. This is my contribution. ~Peace

  • the images should speak for themselves. No need to make it into a theatrical movie. It loses its credibility as a factual video and becomes a fictional movie.

  • @GamingPalooza Well in the USA we have something called the Bill of Rights. The First Amendment to the Constitution allows for peaceful protest. The police had no right arresting them in the first place. So the fact that they were resisting an unlawful act by the police makes them true Americans. When the police fire tear gas and rubber bullets at you for exercising your freedoms will you continue to be so smug?

  • You guys were not so peaceful when you were resisting the police, which is why this mess is happening.
