How do you remove the round in the chamber if you don't need to shoot. Is it done by releasing the mag and pulling back on the slide ( long part that slides back on top of the gun that slides back then forward to its normal position), can't remember parts name. Does this action eject the round that was in the camber. Hope I'm saying this clear enough

it's a S&W

...but always assume the hammer will discharge a round!

@GunGuru727 1911s are calibered with .45's?

"they have what they consider a decocker lever." no, it is a decocker lever

@chrismc410 Ah, I see what you mean.

@SecretService80 It's stock configuration is indeed on the left. But if one wanted, one could put an ambidextrous lever from the 5904 if they wanted. S&W did make some 915s with and without ambidextrous levers. I had a 910 which also could be so configured.

@chrismc410 I see. I knew the -04's were blued and the -06's were stainless, but I thought they could be blued. My mistake, as for the 915, from all the images I've seen of it, it only has a decocker on the left. Not to say you are wrong, though. That's just my assessment.

@buggeazy102 1# on who's list? The caliber doesn't determine how reliable the firearm is usually.
