The Garibaldi (Hypsypops rubicundus) is a large, bright orange fish usually found in kelp forests on the shores of the Pacific Ocean - off the coast of Southern California and Mexico.
The name Garibaldi comes from the Italian Army leader, Guiseppi Garibaldi, whose soldiers wore bright red shirts.
The Garibaldi is the largest member of the damselfish and can grow up to 14 inches in length!
