  • I used this technique (I guess) I heat set the gel medium between each application and then let it sit over night before removing the paper. I was using an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of plain printer paper with 4 inkjet prints. The ink did NOT run.

  • intriguing ... you said at the end that you can distort the image? How, I REALLY want to do that! Thanks!

  • @123barefeet No, it will run. BUT... if u need to use one (like thats all u have) then u could try glazing it first. No idea if it will work. Might as well try.

  • what a waste of gel... and to answer your question on inkjet print transfers... no, inkjet prints will runnnnn.

  • @scribe712 did you ever find out if you can use inkjet? just found this project...looks fun!

  • Can you use an inkjet printer or does it have to be laser to print the image?

  • THANK YOU!! I was trying this yesterday and had watched a tutorial and the guy spread LOADS (COPIOUS AMOUNTS) of gel transfer medium over the image. Well...it was about 1/3 inch thick. But he did it all at once. I tried that and am still waiting for the image to dry. I did not know you could layer and layer 3 or 4 times (after it dries). I have one question, is it ULTRA important to soak the paint brush in water first? I did not do that. :/ Still waiting for my images to dry.

  • thanks!
