think back on every teacher you really connected with. every teacher that made a difference in your life. i say, smile and then some. i say, open up and let them see the real you. i'm not saying be a friend. you're their teacher. but you can be yourself. there's no shame in loving your students, in really caring. don't be a jerk collecting a check. these kids are people. just like you. everyone senses true respect. and everyone responds to it. best advice i can give: respect your students

This is a damaging set of suggestions for teachers that only perpetuates some of the outdated notions that hold us all back. This idea that teachers should be robotic transmitters of knowledge without any life or passion or opinions of their own reflects that unique fear people have of teachers. Of course, you should smile at you students--treat them respect like you would any other person.

This is by far the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I bet she is the worst teacher ever. Being nice to a child = inappropriate relationships? Someone should check into THIS teacher's personal life.

89.9 always rounds up. What report card ever has decimals on it. Teacher's don't mark to multiple decimal places.

Don't drink outside of the class? How do you think most teachers get through each week?!

My favourite part is her grammar error in the description. And how dare she use Nemo at the end!

I REALLY have a question for the maker of this video.

89.99% is the grade they earned.

You are right, it is FAIR to give them this grade.

BUT How is the student being graded?

The class could be 100% multiple choice-but this is unlikely.

However, if the student wrote many papers the teacher is giving rounded grades 85, 90, & 100%

The teacher should understand that they round down often; therefore, they should be fair and give the student the grade they deserved by rounding up in this situation.

i hope you know it's insane if you expect a teacher to conform to those 10 things, apart from the "you don't have all the answers" your rules are bullshit!!

teachers should be allowed to have a life outside of school, whether kids see them or not, they just have to be (almost) exemplary when at school.

Ugg, you wouldn't want to simle at a kid, cut a kid going through a rough time some slack,wear comfy clothing to workout in public (OMG the kids could see you!), or God forbid have a grown up life outside of school. This is insane!!!!!
