This is my first attempt at using WIndows Movie Maker and public domain footage to create interesting visuals to feature my music on youtube as well as for future live performance use. I used the limitations of WMM as well as some download and conversion quirks, as well as extremely limited time, as my personal challenge to see what I could do. The footage of the "angel" was created with an Edison kinetoscope in 1895, produced by the Edison Co., and was banned because the brief film included titillating glimpses of the female performer's (Annabelle Whitford) undergarments. But content wasn't the only concern. "Indeed," notes Champlin in an article on the film production code for American Film, "it was the instant and immense popularity of the movies that stirred the first fears of their corrupting and inciting power."
The other footage I used is of a Deeply iterated nebulabrot fractal rotated in the Zr,Zi,Cr,Ci coordinates.
