  • Maybe what this man ought to do is understand autism scientifically first as "stimulus overselectivity" such that for some they are mentally retarded & for others they are a genius due to their focus on correct stimulus.

Autism is spectrum disorder & so is Fragile X which is first autism to be genetically determined that answers can now be looked for as to why it is more common in boys.

Same principles will be true for new autisms understood genetically & re-labeled to reflect root causes.

  • The man sounds like a fool.

I know who he is; does his credentials mean that I should allow him to say, "Autism is to intellectuals what HIV is to homosexuals" & then say, "We should get answers as soon as possible."

Okay, autism was 1st found with intellectuals because they seek out people like Leo Kanner or Hans Aspergers. There are plenty of typical I.Q. family parents who produce autism because gene mutation is arbitrary.

I.Q. being related to talking to typically developing infants.
