There's no denying that the original release of M&MIX was broken - which isn't especially surprising considering that the game was rushed out the door during its' pre-alpha stage by a desperate publisher (3DO).

However, once you get the inofficial "TELP patch", Might & Magic IX becomes a reasonably playable (if admittedly often uninspiring and underwhelming) traditional CRPG experience. Although the 3D graphics are simplistic and often look unfinished, the controls are fast and responsive, the interface is easy to use and the music is rather nice.

The primary attraction of M&MIX lies in the skill- and promotion-centered character development system carried over reasonably well from M&M 6-8. Fans of the series who can overcome the game's unpolished nature and occasionally dreary presentation will probably find NWC's ill-fated last release to be an almost decent game (post-patch, that is).

  • lol how do you go in combat mode... didnt know their was a button for it

  • @poophead156 As with MM6, 7 and 8 there is both a realtime and a turn-based option for combat in MM9. It's been more than two years since I last played the game so I don't remember the button for turn-based, but I'm sure it can be found in the manual and/or keyboard menu.

  • @Demiath i stopped playing mm9 because i couldnt find the turn-based button xd and that was really a bummer

  • @poophead156 Well, a quick Google search informs me that the key for turn-based mode is Enter. Must have been *really* difficult to find... ;)

  • @Demiath LOL, thanks was used to "c" like in 7 and 8 xd a

  • @poophead156 "c" is for spellcasting, Enter was used for turn-based in MM6-8 as well.

  • My favourite M&M is #6

  • PLEASE make a new Might and Magic game!

It HAVE to be good, not like the crap the game developers do today. Make the characters awesome, the story awesome and the monsters awesome. Do not change the gameplay, its supposed to be able to go into combat mode and PAUSE the game, because it would be too hard otherwise.
