hey man thanks alot this really helped..
i do have a question tho...
i realize that everytime i build crates with music on my external drive when ever i exit the program and come back the crates would dissappear..can i dont create crates form music on external drives?

can you drag a crate into the rescan ID3 button and do the same thing as the "shift+click+drop" to rescan just one crate?

No you can't drag a crate, but you can go into the crate, press Ctrl+A to highlight all the files, then drag them. Same thing really.
