A panorama taken of the grounds of Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA, during their annual Country Fair and Crafts Weekend, September, 2007. Howland Homestead Farm exhibited Randall calves at the event.
Interesting. I live along the coast of southern Maine, approx. 25 miles away from a working Shaker village. It is the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village in New Gloucester, Maine: the last working Shaker community in the world. It's not operated by a trust, but operated by the Shakers themselves, who still live and worship there.
I should probably go to the Shaker Village. I'm a resident of Hancock, so I could get in for free, and it is about a 5 minute drive to get there...
