Its people like John Francis that make a difference. After reading Planet Walker a couple years ago and completing a book report on it, I realized how truly important it is to communicate, connect and interact with all people on our planet. Now that I am a university student studying environmental studies myself, I find there is a growing importance to protect the one thing we all share. Like Dr. Francis says, "part of receiving the message is listening," which is exactly what we need to do.

@johnnyfarout, amazing how people can judge without information. Does he look and speak "ghetto"? I'd say NOT IN THE LEAST! Did you say that just because he's a black man? If so, then you're the one that's stuck in the ghetto, the ghetto of your mind. Check out planetwalker website, then search for "John Francis: I walk the Earth" here on youtube, and inform yourself before you start babbling about your so called intuition again. John Francis lives 20 min from me, he's well known, and legit.

Was at his guest speech appearance and I have got to say what an amazing clip they showed before he spoke and what an amazing speech. This is truly inspirational. I am so glad I met this man, bought his book and had him autograph it. Pictures were took too and the people that took them said it was for our college so im going to try and check on that too. I hope every fan of his gets to meet him he truly is a nice man.
He isn't a liar because his journey is well-documented and many people have come forth who know him including a pair miners in Oregon who he spent plenty of time with. BBC Hardtalk can't be correct all of the time and it's not rubbish one bit-- I suggest reading his book and learning about him before judging just from someone's opinion alone.

He isn't a liar, he has a book out and is quite honest and candid in the fact that he walked for 22 years and was silent for 17 years (he did it to stop arguments.) He was protesting for the environment.
