2011 Volvo S60

"City Safety" meets "chill city" as Volvo re-invents itself to allow safety and style to co-exist exceptionally in their latest project. Calm, cool and collective were my initial thoughts upon driving the all-new Volvo S60 sports sedan. It's a very chill vehicle that looks great while creating emotional feedback and response. It's calm and confident due to the standard cadre of technological safety enhancements. A perennial leader in automotive safety advancements, Volvo is always raising the bar beyond traditional expectations. Now imagine if every vehicle on the road came standard with City Safety and Pedestrian Detection. Our kids, family and friends would be much safer on the roads!

  • The same car already ran over my cat?!

  • @nunayafb I havent missed the point at all. firstly the % dont matter. its not important. secondly ur making pointless comparisons about a 'safety system' that will be mostly invisible. Its not something u will even know is there. Also,at no point did I say anything about this being some kind of 'idiot proofing driver aid', u came 2 that conclusion yourself. No one is going 2 drive any worse with this system on board, people step out in front of cars FACT & drives are not always paying attention

  • @MGazT Wow, you missed the point and made up BS numbers, 001%, WTF?

The point is if people are raised in an environment with sharp edges they learn not to bump into things, if they are raised in padded rooms they don't need to worry.

The goal is to prevent the 001% that you randomly picked from becoming 002% due to complacency! You are assuming this safety feature will save lives, history proves that you cannot idiot proof anything because idiots can always find a gap in safety and get injured.

  • @nunayafb human beings are intelligent enough 2 not 'intentionally' step out in front of a moving car. unfortunately being human means u also make mistakes.the system isn't going 2 cause a mass change in driving attitude. people will still instinctively hit the brakes when they see a hazard & for the 001 % of people who on 1 particular day when there mind is else where & for the first time ever they mistakenly dont look before crossing the road, if it saves one life because of that, its worth it

  • @MGazT It will eventually make people rely on it and become complacent. If an idiot jumps out from behind a van she deserves to get hit, how else will people learn to not jump in front of moving cars??? This type of technology provides the false illusion of safety thereby creating danger. Protecting people negates the need for them to protect themselves, this makes people weak.

  • Also for cats and dogs ?

  • Does it work if there is a midget festival in town?

  • what if the car behind you smash your ass?
