IMO there are way too many random areas in the wall to shoot that lead you to power ups. I mean I got 60%. THAT IS BULL

You can, and you do at the end of the game, The Computer was Entirely Wrong... BTW:i beat this about 100 times, and i never Tried the Stunts He did. Terrifyingly Wonderful!!!

The Federation lied to Samus when they told her she couldn't handle it, they just didn't want her growing too powerful, so she would be unable to stop the Metroid breeding program (should she find out about it) or the SA-X, as the Federation wanted to research it. They tried to prevent Samus becoming too powerful by withholding the Plasma Beam data, and attempting to withhold the Diffusion Missile data.

what you say is true but it's weird that at the end of the game (while fighting the Omega Metroid) you restore the ice beam by absorbing the SA-X
