Chicago Militarizes for G8/NATO Summits

Chicago Mayor and former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel just won approval from the Chicago City Council for a Draconian set of anti protesting ordinances to prepare the city for international protesters who will flood the city for the G8 and NATOs summits scheduled to take place this spring in Chicago. Just like many other cities that use big events as a pretense for concentrating power, Emanuel is drumming up fear to make a grab for power.

I voted for the green party candidate but would've happily supported a republican to keep this scumbag away from the mayor's office. The fact that no republican ran against him shows that there is NO difference between Rs and Ds, they're all in the business of suppressing people's rights.

economical ideals, but we need to remember that we're all in this together, and we will all most likely have common ground,

so focus on that, and debate the differences in a time of peace.
