While you might think it clever to deface a banana in the manner in which you have.. The banana had no say in your actions.. Think again before torturing fruit in the future please consider reading more about bananas * Lessard, William O. Complete Book of Bananas. William O. Lessard, Publisher. 1992 * Morton, Julia F. Fruits of Warm Climates. Creative Resources Systems, Inc. 1987. pp. 29-46 * Ortho Books. All About Citrus and Subtropical Fruits. Chevron Chemical Co. 1985. pp. 20-23

@stonergoddess My point wasn't that we haven't done anything better or greater, of course we have. My point was that we spend a ridiculous amount of time and energy on pointless endeavors, like engraving patterns on bananas with lasers..

This shows why it's not necessary to buy organic bananas. The peels are THIS THICK that they can endure laser-etched engravings and most likely wouldn't be affected by pesticides.

@fleppleman Ya that's right, this video shows the height of our abilities We, as humans, have not done anything better. This really is the best we ever pulled off. . Look out your window, or the computer in front of you, and think about how stupid your comment was.

Thousands of years of human evolution and we come to this, engraving patterns in fruit via lasers. Can we not do anything more remarkable being the dominant species on the planet? I reckon the dinosaurs did more with their time than us.
You opened the banana backwards.

@esotericsean
You are absolutely right. We discussed on which side it should be opened in the video, but decided to go for 'the back' because Lotte (the person to whom the hand belongs) was not familiar with the 'proper' technique yet. We had only 1 engraved banana, so only one take to get it right.

@opalshuman:
I did it because we have a new lasercutter, I love bananas and we just launched a new website about pattern making. It needed some content to get started and I wanted to have some fun. I have no intention to start an avant-garde fruit store :-)
