  • Today is December 21st, 2010 1:55 am - time of a full moon total eclipse on winter solstice (last one some 350 or so years ago) and I listen to this beautiful music feeling it sound through the whole Universe melting away all darkness and touching everything and everyone with human kindness transforming it into a Universe of Brotherhood where everyone lives in Peace. Such is the power of beauty in music. Happy holiday to everyone.

  • I don't know why only the last movement got the most recognition...sure it is bombastic and grand..but this adagio(in fact labeled as second half of movement one) is one of the rare instances in which the music reaches to the soul..

  • @238assante : You are *clairvoyantly* correct, my friend.

  • i just love that movement. It's like a farewell to an era of romanticism , a perfect representation of the "fin de siecle" , before the turmoils of atonalism, relativity, quantum, world wars .. and the world as we know it.

  • Absolutely perfect.

  • I want this to be played at my funeral. Like, the opening music.

  • *rumble rumble rumble* @ 8:45 lol

    love those 32' stops

  • stop coughing!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • people that cough like that should be kicked out.

  • someone please shoot the picture coordinator! this wonderful trombone solo together with the clarinet is just ignored...

  • OMG - This is incredibly beautiful! Saint-Saens would surely be proud.
