Yeah,
This is one of Rogers songs. Gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. It's a great story from a great songwriter and guitarist. Saw this played live when the Byrds were a group. I think '68, +/- but the years were kinda hazy then.

Written by Roger McGuinn and Jacques Levy in 1969 as part of a musical adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's play "Peer Gynt". In Ibsen's play the hero is chasing a reindeer, but in McGuinn's song it is a horse.

Wow, yes- He does the bridge in D and goes back to the key of C for the rest of the song. He gets away with it just fine! Beautiful song.
