Dolce is a sensitive horse vs. Z who is less sensitive. Compare the two videos to see the differences in how you would adjust your work to suit each horse.
My way of doing Round pen work with a horse and is her third session. Right now we are still figuring each other out... how close do I need to be to her to influence behavior? how strong does my cue need to be? What direction does she like best to move?
JMO but chasing a horse around an RP (part 1 of 2) is in the long run, very counter-productive so that is why I call this "connecting" - getting to know each other and what we both need to work as a team.
BTW this is also a great way to introduce the concept of lunging as the horse is moving on a circle, yet is not restrained in any way.
