Is there any reason that the parade is more american than british and that the american flag appears all the time?
All the people I know around Europe call UK the 51st state and mean that this country has become a culturaly and political satelite state to america. is that true or is there a reason that this parade is more american then british?
Ive always defended britain against these attacks but when I seethis I can see why they wonder. but I guess there is a logical explanation :)

Sorry to take so long to reply. Of course you must remember that I only show the bands in these videos (because they are what I enjoy watching at the parade) but most of the parade, which takes 2 1/2 hours, is made up of British carnival floats from all the London boroughs and elsewhere. There are very few British marching bands, but we do not have the same tradition. Maybe there is a parade somewhere else in the world that all the British bands fly out to take part in!

Thanks for your comment - I'm glad you had a good time in London. Do come back - with the UK economy as it is, we love to see overseas visitors!
