Well depends, the learning curve for using this phone will be shorten but in terms of long term user friendliness, no good.

I think palm might counter sue the patent owner for restricting fair market practices. It is like saying there is a patent for numeric keypad therefore any similarities is thus a violation.
Compare this scenario with Microsoft case back in the 90s.

thats the point it does not have an onscreen keyboard.....

press the button on the screen that says videos perhaps. u dont have to use the universal search for everythin.....why do u need buttons to look for it, its touch screen

palm might get sued for the gestures, apple patented every single detail..
No onscreen keyboard? yeah thats where they messed up..

Why should you want a crappy software keyboard whan you have a *real one* waiting for you? This isn't an iPhone, dude: this is a *real* smartphone.

Why is there so much hate aimed towards the iPhone? Guess its "A king on top of the hill thing" when you're on top everyone just wants to bring you down.

Because claiming a five-year leap for a Palm Pilot clone packed with a GSM radio and an accelerometer is not a good idea, except when speaking to pre-teen geeks.
Palm invented the touchscreen experience (following the Newton failure): ten years later, Apple invented the touchscreen hype.
