Find more recipes at http://www.cooking-mexican-recipes.com. Today I am going to show you how to make this easy healthy side dish that goes with just about anything including fish, beef, chicken and pork.

The flavor is incredible with the caramelized onion and garlic.

Ingredients:
1 lb fresh green beans, washed and trimmed
1 yellow onion finely minced
2 to 3 cloves of fresh garlic, minced
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted or not
salt and pepper to taste
1 + tbsp. olive oil

Directions:
Saute the onion in the olive oil for 30 to 40 minutes, stirring frequently. Add the garlic at the end and cook an additional 3 minutes.
Steam the grean beans for about 6 to 13 minutes or to your liking.
When green beans and onion are done, combine the two and toss till green beans are well coated. Top with salt and pepper and almonds.

Enjoy!

  • I didn't catch you put in the garlic... i am assuming 2-3mins before putting in the green beans?

  • @Belzard Yes that is correct. I added the garlic at 6:21 into the video.
