Notes:

This video recorded the first (known) move over this crossing in many years. This does not include trackcars.

Stourbridge Railroad trackage stretches from Honesdale to Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania.

A former Erie-Lackawanna (Former Erie) branch line, it had been owned by The Lackawaxen-Honesdale Shippers Association since 1976 until
2008.

Now, it is owned by a private owner.

Past operators of the line have been Delaware-Otsego System, which called the railroad LASB, and North Shore Railroad System, which called the railroad SBRR.

The former operator was Central Penn Rail Corp., and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce hosts The Stourbridge Line Rail Excursions.

Morristown & Erie Railway is the new operator in 2009.
Their website mentions nothing of the acquisition.

  • A guy is working on the crossing. When the train goes by he's out of sight flagging the crossing. After it passes he ducks into the signal booth to check out circults. Look behind the gates.

  • I hear it belongs to the Morristown & Erie now. Was told it's at their shops being readied for light frieght duty in PA.

  • @gp9railfan it is great to see an old B.A.R. locomotive still running, especially a BL2 still painted in B.A.R. colors great video!

  • Why dont the crossings activate?

  • The Lion was a locomotive

  • Rusty rail's a bitch.

  • I can tell there is something wrong with that railroad crossing. How come it doesn't activate until the train has already passed it?

  • Don'tcha meen Stourbridge Lion?

  • Great to see an old BAR loco still roaming the rails! Great video!
