PLEASE DO NOT MAKE MECHA REQUESTS!!! I will make videos of what I feel like!

--------------------

DX Chogokin Fiverobo! DX 超合金 ファイブロボ!

This is a video i've put together for the main mecha from Chikyu Sentai Fiveman.

Fiverobo (or GREAT-IN-BOX as the box would have you believe) is made up from three mecha (WHY??? 3 mecha to make FIVErobo???). Fiverobo have three individual modes: Vehicles, Fivetrailer, and Fiverobo. The three individual Mecha are...

1. Sky Alpha
2. Carrier Beta
3. Land Gamma

1. スカイアルファ
2. キャリアベータ
3. ランドガンマ

This is one of the last of the original Chogokin Mecha family line-up (that title is held by Jet Icarus) before being scraped by the time Zyuranger emerged. There was a brief resurgence in the late 90s with some toys like Gingaioh...but by 2000 they were gone once again.

Fiverobo itself isn't really a mecha I hold near and dear. It really feels like they couldn't pick a theme for what they wanted. I get that they're all vehicles, but they hardly match. Also, the Chojigen Sword 超次元ソード is pretty lame. It should've just been one single sword. For the life of me, I can't get the sword to connect properly. The "Double Shotgun" and "Twin Cannon" are nice accessories atleast...but I really wish that PLEX would've designed some kind of shield for Fiverobo.

The Chogokin factor of this toy is decent. It's pretty heavy. Carrier Beta contains the bulk of the Die Cast parts, Sky Alpha contains a little bit, Land Gamma has none.

Later in the series, Starfive was introduced as the secondary Mecha. Much like the Turborugger before it in Turboranger, Starfive is an extremely ugly ship-turned-mecha that combines with Fiverobo to make Super Five Robo.

This toy is really for fans of the series and Chogokin collectors. Casual Mecha fans and people who play with toys should really steer clear. You'll just find yourself frustrated at the complexity of transforming this toy without ruining the paint on the Die Cast parts.

Thanks for watching my second Mecha Video (go check out my Daizyujin video!). I wouldn't go so far as to call this a review.

Check out my Myspace Blog. This week I vent some frustrations about Youtube and reveal what my first video of 2009 will be. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=369670221...
