  • @DawnElizabeth54 What the organist that I work with will often say is "That's written for the piano" So, sometimes we do it at the piano. The accompaniment with I will Praise Your Name is very different from the melody. The same thing with If Today Your Hear God's Voice..the accompaniment is very different than what the melody is. I happen to like these accompaniments, but it probably would be easier if you weren't the one singing.

  • Can I ask you a question? My organist does this too with certain pieces out of the gather. Why do you not play the accompaniment with this. The organist at my church God bless she's 80s years old and can still sight read like you wouldn't believe...on this piece she plays the accompaniment written. But often (even though she can and I'm assuming you can to..play the accompaniment that is) she will just mix the melody with the bass clef or chords. Can I ask why you do this?
