Sapphire and Ruby are both corundum, the same gem....I suggest they double check this stone, and check a variety of samples.

You got a good point... but you also got to take into account that it makes sense... and it is in the bible so its not not for nothing. GOD chose those stones for some reason. And who knows maybe that kind of light and color pleases the spirit (ours) or maybe GOD just doesnt want his holy city to have a dark overtone if he would have use the dark stones like diamonds. But again... i dont know. Im just going by what the Bible teaches.
