  • @TheMadPole  Now how do you work that out? Whatever a detector does in an air test it will do less in a ground test so how is it a worthless test?

    Except for the occasional coin the ground that is so corroded that it forms a larger target.

  • @micmoable I had a deepseeker too and it would detect a small coin at 12 inches. I think you will find all these new ones wont do much better.. There is so much bullshit around these days.,

  • Best depth I've ever seen for a handheld hobby detector was the depth of a Garrett Deep Seeker I owned that had a 12" search coil on it---that detector could easily pick up a Civil War Minie ball air testing to about 22 inches from the coil----now that's really good depth. Other than that, I got really good depth from a 1266-x, a CZ-5, and a CZ-6

  • Air tests are worthless for the most part.
