Why do I sometimes hear "arigatou gozaimashita" vs "arigatou gazaimasu" ? What is the difference?

@HajisSaya "MASHITA" is past. "MASU" is present.

@harimabobenkei You mean that "dog" (いぬ) is like "mole" or "rat" in english? A common slang for "insider" or "spy"?

I didn't notice it was several months ago, aha....but other people were asking. And I suppose they really could be there, but beginner's might get confused. I'm tempted to make a video like this with the readings like flashcards so one can practice and see what they know..

@ciaoskater yeah! thanks for answering me a year later. by the way i know about the different readings. you can still put them.

@jodelle6 The simple reason to not put the reading is because the kanji have more than one reading, and you have to learn when each is used to read the character. How you read them varies on how they are used, so learning what they mean by visualization will save you time when you are a beginner. You can look up the characters and their readings on many sites like jlptstudy :]
