Thought conveyed. Just wasn't sure exactly what you were trying to say with your original statement, thanks for clarifying it. As I said originally, nobody is going to confuse him with the real "guitar heroes" but he had the style and enough proficiency to be a good fit in Janes Addiction and to a lesser extent the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

@Jmitchpen1013 -_- I was trying to convey my thoughts on the whole 'fame does not equal talent' issue. And when it comes to the content of the discussion, yes he can play guitar. However he is neither a spectacular player or a very good writer. Also, he strikes me as someone who has his personality mirrored by his music - all style, no substance. Don't jump to being condescending just because someone throws a criticism his way.

Nobody is going to confuse Dave Navarro with John Frusciante, Kirk Hammett, Slash or any of a number of other very good rock guitarists but hey, the guy is is still good at what he does. He was an essential part of Jane's Addiction and was also pretty proficient during his short stint with The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Give credit where it is due, how many of you are playing on the main stage this week?
