I live about 20mins northeast of this and we're under a major airway, what you see are mixtures of satellites and aircraft... maybe a comet or two. You can see comets everywhere when you're about 30mins away from civilization for sure. Best places for falling stars in my honest opinion is western Montana, Indian Caves in Nebraska, and St. George's Gorge in Utah coming from Arizona and Nevada.
and North Dakota had to be cloudy on this particular night.
