@vodkasvictim Perhaps you missed the point. The video isnt scalding anyone for developing an air defense program. This video is for pursuasion purposes, meant to sway politicians into continuing to fund our Air Force. This video is fairly old and doesnt point out the lack of C3I capabilities on the part of our "potential adversaries". Assets like Cobra Ball, Rivet Joint, and AWACS are something China and Russia has seemingly failed to appreciate. Not to mention Stealth + Jamming > ADA.

@Icarusdecending82 Most Russian missiles have anti-jamming systems. There's always a chance for the AA system to fail, but stealth planes and even anti-radar missiles have a range of 60km. SAM has a 400km range and connected to all radars. missiles can go 3-12 mach. US is still stronger. Russia is getting stronger fast.

@6630mcdo Its true they have but they arent as capable as the E3B/C. The Mainstay (Russian AWACS) has a design flaw that doesn't allow the radar to see aft of the aircraft (because of the high wing tail). The engines also don't produce the wattage that the Sentry's do. You'd like to think our stealth aircraft are easily destroyed but you don't take into account our electronic attack capabilities (jamming and ARM's) also the fixed radar sites would be targeted by SLCM's.
