Anne recites one of her favorite poems, "The Lady of Shalott," by Alfred Lord Tennyson, while pretending to hold a funeral with her friends. Visit my channel for more films that quote poetry.

  • @redmr2na in the movie it was John Barry's boat.

  • anne was obsessed with lady of shallott! lol..she recited it at the beginning of anne or green gables, she played elaine in this part of the movie, and then she makes her class read it in anne of avonlea

  • @Djiril922 Thank you, I mean hell, it was their own fault for not looking in the boat and seeing if it would float without leaking.

  • @misschrisanthamum Yeah, it does. :) Love the music video!

  • doesn't the music video for that song "if i die young" reference this scene? she's carrying the tennyson book dead floating down the river

  • @redmr2na Voted up 'cause swearing makes it funny.

  • Now this is a classic movie. Something that stands the test of time unlike most movies these days. Btw does anyone know the song that plays when Anne recites the poety. I've been dying to find out. lol

  • Poor Anne. I wonder how much she had to pay Mr. Blythe for his leaky boat that she lost.
