Bitch please, if you seriously think L ever considered Light as a friend then you, sir, are mistaken. See, since really the only one who REALLY needed to die was Watari, there was no need to kill L. And so, knowing this, L faked his death (So that he could watch Kira die as he promised he would in the begining) Like I was saying, he faked his death, contacted someone in the SPK (Also to help him watch Light die) And yada yada yada.
