This man don't know how to play the game and that's jus turrible. What you gotta do is pick up the little "I" item before you shoot the next one, so that one uncovers the "II" and pretty soon you're at max point items.
Starting out you want the purple weapon (clouds), does lots of damage and it gives you a lot of points from continually damaging enemies (that's called "chip damage" girls) maybe change it over to another weapon later on.
