Demi: [She walked into his room without knocking.] Hey.
Nick: Wow you look absolutely gorgeous.
Demi: [She smiled.] Would you still say that if I told you that I haven't even started getting ready yet?
Nick: [He blushed.] I probably wouldn't say it, but I'd be thinking it.
Demi: [Her cheeks were flushed with a soft baby pink tone.] Oh, well. Uh, I was just uhm checking up on you.
Nick: You should be getting ready. [He grinned.] Are you still mad at me?
Demi: [She was caught off-guard. She had completely forgotten why she was mad at him until he asked.] That depends, are you still bringing Selena?
Nick: Yes. I'm not changing my mind.
Demi: Ugh! I'm not even going to stress out over this, because I might get a pimple. [She walked out making hand gestures in the air, talking to herself]
Nick: [He chuckled.]
2 Hours later.
Taylor: All set?
Demi: Definitely! Do I look beautiful?
Taylor: Mhm. You always do your majesty. [She gave Demi a convincing fake smile and bowed before leaving.]
Demi: Oh! Get Nick for me, I actually feel like talking to him now.
A few minutes past.
Nick: Yes, Princess?
Demi: Oh, you. Yeah..[As if she made the decision on the spot.] hmm..yeah okay. You're gonna be my first dance.
Nick: So you're not mad at me anymore?
Demi: I still am. But you better make sure she doesn't steal my spotlight.
Nick: Don't worry, you look way too beautiful for that to happen. Wait, you're not going to have a date?
Demi: Nope, that's old school.
Nick: When shall I announce your funeral. Your mom is going to go insane. She might murder you on the spot. Come to think of it, some of your citizens might celebrate. You do realize that you're the only person in our royal family to be entering alone at their cotillion.
Demi: I already talked to her about it. I have an idea, Nick. Don't worry your poor little head.
Nick: Shouldn't you be wearing your dress & not sweat pants?
Demi; Sh! Stop noticing the little things.
Nick: Well I'm just saying & good luck with my dad. 'Cause he definitely won't approve. [After a minute of silence, he gave up and decided to change the topic.] So, I'm going to be your first dance huh? [He leaned against the wall with his elbows crossed smirking.]
Demi: Oh, hush. It's not like I can trust anyone else, & I don't even trust you that much anymore either.
Nick: Hey, it's one girl! [He made a gesture that expressed his thought of her being unfair.]
Demi: But you have a reputation, do you NOT understand!?
Nick: Can we not get into this? Thank you. Now you look gorgeous, so go out there & wow them.
Demi: Thanks Nick. [She kept a straight face and stared at him as she spoke the next couple of words.] I always look gorgeous. Remember that.
At the beginning of the party:
There is a stage & everyone's quiet. Now WATCH THE VIDEO Curtain falls. 10 minutes later.
Demi comes out wearing her red dress & walks to the microphone
Demi: Yes we did it differently this year. [She breathed heavily from all the dancing.] But, change is good. Now, I hope you liked the performance. My first dance, this is probably the only tradition that's going to be kept, because I don't have an escort, my first dance is going to be with my brother. & after that I hope to find my prince charming at this cotillion which is why I didn't come with anyone. I'm 17. Who wants to be chained down? [She laughed and graciously walked off the stage as muttering slowly grew audible through the crowd.]
Later:
Demi: Nick! No one is asking me to dance!
Selena: [She immediately let go of Nick, scared out of her mind.]
Demi: [She rolled her eyes.] What? I don't bite.
Nick: [He was annoyed because she was interrupting their dance, so he grabbed the nearest guy & thrust him at her.] Here, Dance with her.
Joe: Uh, sure. [He looked at Demi & put his hand out.]
Demi: [For the first time in her life she decided to be polite, so she took it. What a big mistake.] Hi. Soo..What's your name? [She felt his hand go around her waist & he started to sway. She followed his lead.]
Joe: Joe. You're obviously Demi.
Demi: Yeah, obviously. [She retorted, smugly.] So how come I don't know you?
