In New Haven, Connecticut the pipeline from school to prison is shorter than you might think.

  • It is possible to stick to school rules, I was a kid once, and I still did it. A mistake is an accidental act. Dropping out of school, choosing not to study, going out in the city and joining gangs and choosing a life of crime is not a mistake, it's a choice. It's a result of poor upbringing and poor parenting. Schools are designed to educate, not raise children.

  • Not all schools, not all cities, and not all neighborhoods are alike. We can't afford to take the easy route and say: "Hey, I did it so why can't you?"

Besides, there was no WAY I'd get suspended for wearing a freakin' HAT! That's harassment, plain and simple. That's being told that you're worthless. After awhile, people beleive what they're told.

  • wow. maybe the students in the school system should think of taking some action...maybe...sticking to school policies and rules? If that is possible...

  • Wow... I'm leaving this comment up because it's so wrong it's making the opposite point through irony...

  • the answer..stop feeding our youth with all the european history outdated education..bring their history to the table..they might listen

  • like the vid but i have a way for all the cons to make honest living. great opportunities await any con clicking on my page and watching my vids. thanks

  • As socially relevant as this is, this video is basically ad hominem polotics hiding behind children: Par for course. The ethnicity of the schools I went to was largely white. I didn't fit in, because I had a different type of brain. A few of my teachers terrorized me, and many of my peers beat the crap out of me. I was not socially included, because I followed the all the rules. I almost failed Kinder; I was the only Valedictorian of my class... the rest are meth addicts. It's called evolution.

  • Working in Connecticut Prisons for 11 years, this video makes so much sense it's sickening. In schools it's sink or swim and the sinkers usually end up in jail or dead. It should not be that way for children. For adults maybe, but not for kids...

  • The whole racist thing is bullshit. No one wants to hear a pity story cause your black. Everyone gets punished and trust me no one has gotten it worse then I have and I have no one to blame but myself. If I was black then maybe I could use that too for my defense.

  • I agree with Jester.. I have too much to say so i'll just make a video response.

  • I knew it,...someone would bring up the topic of race for discrimination for a clip that has NOTHING to do with race. Leave it to the hampster for being predictable. WTF.

  • Well thank you for actually discussing the topic instead of attacking me personally. For anyone who has called me a racist, take a look at my comments and you'll see that the only people mentioning race are you guys. I obviously don't agree with this theory you have, I'm not going to discuss it anymore because you aren't going to change your mind and neither am I. I just think you're blaming the wrong people.
