Commander Zilyana (Solo Guide) W/Hilt Drop

This video shows my personal method of soloing the Saradomin GW Commander, Zilyana.

This information is CURRENT and reflects the changes made to Zilyana on 6-9-09.

~Minimum
85+ Defense
85+ Hitpoints
85+ Range
52+ Summoning
68+ Slayer
44+ Prayer
70+ Agility

~For Best Results
90+ Defense
90+ Hitpoints
95+ Range
83+ Slayer
75+ Prayer

****NOTE*****
If this is your first trip, you will NEED to rope each cliff (shown at 1:16 and 1:21 of the video) before you can continue (you will only need to do this once).

***Tips n Tricks***
1. Use Terrorbird special ASAP during the battle
(You need to give the bird the max amount of recharge time)

2. Use 10% and 15% defensive prayers
You do not want to waste time drinking/running.

3. Make *SURE* your Auto Retaliate is off

4. If you do not have to Brew, dont do it
In order to achieve the maximum KPT, you want to kill Zilyana ASAP.

5. If major healing is needed, drink brews at a three to one ratio to restores
(brew, brew, brew, restore)

6. Double-click each corner (using the radar) while running around the room
People tend to fail clicking the corners, which results in their character stopping short


***F.A.Q***
Q1. Is she still possible to solo?
A1. Yes

Q2. Is it true that Starlight/Bree chase you the entire time?
A2. Yes, although starlight will end up walking alongside Zilyana, which means Bree is the only one that constantly has the potential of doing damage to you.

Q3. ROW or ROL?
A3. I would recommend the Archers ring; however, the choice is up to you.

Q4. When do you switch to Diamond (E) from Ruby?
A4. When Zilyana is around 3/4s of her HP -- saves brews

Q5. How many Zilyana kills do you get?
A5. 8-10

Q6. How high should you keep your HP?
A6. I tend to stay 60+

Q7. How many shots each time around the room?
A7. Five

Q8. What attack mode do you use?
A8. Accurate

Q9. What Godsword would you recommend?
A9. SGS - ZGS - BGS (in order)

Q10. I'm *insert stats here* can I do it?
A10. There's a big difference between doing it, and doing it well -- my recommended stats are shown further above, and I would be hesitant to recommend any less than those (I am aware it can be done; however, it is simply not practical/efficient).

If you do not meet the requirements, but still want to go, I would encourage you to do so; however, I would recommend modifying the inventory shown further above to meet your stats.

**Strategy Summary**
-Before Entering:
1. Pot: Brew / Restore
2. Pray: Rock Skin / Eagle Eye / Project Magic

-The Kill:
1. Keep HP 60+ and use Ruby Bolts (e) until Zilyana reaches ¾ of her HP
2. Switch to Diamond (e), Brew/Restore/Range Pot and change from Rock Skin to Steel

-After the Kill:
1. Piety and attack Growler with the SGS -- use special attack
2. After Growler is dead, protect range and kill Starlight
3. Attack Bree, but *DO NOT KILL* leave it with critical HP
(you can kill all the guards next round and use the altar)
4. Run to the South-East corner, and wait for the next spawn

***Closing****
Zilyana is not near as hard as some may say. It is actually really fun! If this will be your first time, you may want to go with less gear to get the "feel" for how it is done.

When i watch this video it seems so easy , cause it doesn't hit you at all.

Was this luck, or cause ur super high def with extreme def or something like that or is it just the strategy? (please answer)

In some ways it was harder back then, as even though the room was larger, there was a number of glitches that caused you to mess up (familiar glitch causing you to run at her / Zilyana cutting corners, etc).

The room is smaller now, but the basic principal is still the same - run 'n shoot. When it comes to avoiding damage, your best bet is high gear (such as the DFS), proper prayers, and potions.
