Okay, I see. Yet I still think it's SICK that they tend to destroy the one chick they can't raise. Even in animals, I am strongly opposed to child neglect and abuse.
If they can't raise their other chick, then "put it up for adoption" and I will raise it instead! And I'll treat it with care.

The reason most parrots die around 20yrs is because of neglectful owners and supervision.

They raise one chick a year of only one in a clutch.
So if they have 30 seasons , they're raise 30 chicks.
I've had five in a clutch before and they all survived to adulthood.

Usually a Cockatoo couple may give birth to 2 chicks in a clutch, yet only can raise one, thus casting out the other chick or mutilating it (yes, they kill their OWN children!) Natural behavior, but SICK!
So if they only raise one chick, then isn't the 'too population dwindling? And if not, why not?

Aww, I love all of your videos, they are just so sweet ^ ^ <33 very well done.
I really do get a kick out of how you put some of these videos together. I wish my buddy's wife had let him keep the big parrot he had. Thayer

Wow on the birds age. Are they going to out live you?

Who knows. They may.
As long as they're kept healthy with a good diet and exercise, they could live past 60!
