Chapter 22 - My Beautiful Rescue - A Jonas Brothers Story

(Lindsey's Point Of View)

Unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end. Summer, vacations, roller coasters, birthdays... they all come to an end eventually. Just like our little bowling "date" with Joe, Kevin, and Nick had to finish.

But, I knew this would not be the conclusion of the friendships that we formed, the blooming relationships - this was only the beginning.

As we said our goodbyes to each other, Joe giving me a massive hug that nearly suffocated me, I couldn't do anything else but look at him with a smile plastered across my face. He asked for my own cell phone number, and my screen name so we could talk online, and I promptly gave it to him.

The three brothers and Kevin's girlfriend waited until we were picked up before they took off in their own van, leaving the bowling alley almost completely deserted.

After Brooke, Kayla, and I stepped into my mom's car and buckled our seat belts, the first thing my mom asked was who the other girl standing next to Kevin was.

"Umm... his friend," I said plainly.

"His friend?" she questioned, turning around in her seat to look at me, her eyebrows raised.

"No, it's his girlfriend," Brooke answered for me. "He has a girlfriend. Her name is Rachel."

"Oh... that's what I assumed. They look cute together," my mom stated as she began to drive us home. "Didn't you like him though, Brooke?"

I glanced at Brooke who shifted uncomfortably in her seat. "Uh... yeah. Well, I still do... But, whatever..." She cleared her throat.

I could tell my mom sensed that Brooke didn't want to talk about it as she simply nodded and turned up the volume to the radio.

After dropping Brooke and Kayla off at their houses and returning to my own, I suddenly felt very bored. And alone. I wanted to talk to Joe again, to just see him, even though it hadn't even been more than an hour since we were bowling together.

I locked myself in my room and turned on my computer, signing onto AIM, and hoping Brooke and Kayla would be online so I could talk to them about the whole experience. I was disappointed to see they weren't on. Sighing, I minimized my buddy list, going onto the internet to surf the web. I guess I got so caught up in watching random YouTube videos, checking my e-mail, and reading the latest gossip sites that before I knew it, nearly two hours had passed.

I was about to sign off and go find something else to do when an instant message popped up from a random screen name that I didn't recognize.

djdanger815: hey gurll what up???
supxxitslinds: um hi, who is this?
djdanger815: your boyfriend duhhh
supxxitslinds: i don't have a boyfriend? what's your name?
djdanger815: my name is dj danger

Suddenly, it all came together. I had given Joe my screen name. DJ Danger=Joe.

supxxitslinds: nice try, JOE.
djdanger815: hey how'd u know!
supxxitslinds: i know everything
djdanger815: oh really? everything??
supxxitslinds: yup. everything!
djdanger815: i bet you don't know everything
supxxitslinds: oh yeah? what don't i know then?
djdanger815: well... did you know that i think ur really pretty :)

I smiled, butterflies gathering in my stomach- I was at a loss at words at what to say in response to him.

supxxitslinds: thanks joe, you are really pretty too
djdanger815: WHATS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN
supxxitslinds: i dont know, im just being nice
djdanger815: you are confusing
supxxitslinds: you are a dorkk
djdanger815: a cute dork ;)
supxxitslinds: fine joe. you are a cute dork.

I didn't know what else to do other than give in, especially when I knew it was the truth.

djdanger815: SCORE!
djdanger815: i have to go :( i will be back on tomorrow..but ill text u or something later
supxxitslinds: okay :] bye joeeeee

djdanger815 has signed off.

Lovebug? I grinned out of confusion, yet the whole conversation just made me want to jump into the computer and hug Joe. How was it possible for one guy to possess so much cuteness?

Sorry the ending was kinda bad, I don't know if I like this chapter actually. Also sorry I took so long to get this chapter up, as usual. Blah and this is my last week of summer :( It went so fast.. SO. I want to kind of finish this story up soon. I don't really think it is possible to finish it BEFORE school starts, but just so you know the updates probably aren't going to get any faster :\ I don't think I'm going to have any more than 30 chapters. The next chapter should be awesome, I promise.. I have an awesome idea. Thanks so much for reading my story- seriously. You don't know how much it means to hear you guys saying I'm an awesome writer! :] I hope you like this chapter!
