Beautiful.... As Interpreted, He did Believe in the The Divinity of Nature and Cosmic Consciousness. I believe thathHe has a true Reverence of Nature.

Historian Dennis Williams concludes that Muir saw nature as a great teacher, "revealing the mind of God," and this belief became the central theme of his later journeys and the "subtext" of his nature writing. According to Williams, in nature, especially in the wilderness, Muir was able to study the plants and animals in an environment that he believed "came straight from the hand of God, uncorrupted by civilization and domestication."
-
Muir's friend Henry Fairfield Osborn noted that he retained from his early religious training "this belief, which is so strongly expressed in the Old Testament, that all the works of nature are directly the work of God."

@jamerjoe Also, Einstein's views about God seemed to have changed as he aged. Therefore there is disagreement on Einstein's views on God.
-
Muir 'used 'god' language, much like Einstein did but like Einstein also rejected Judeo Christianity and theism...

The natural world is wild, wonderful and beautiful. It is a reflection of our creator-God. Muir does such a great job with his words in describing everything around him. Are these commentators listening to what he's saying? It sure doesn't sound like it!

Looks to be very interesting indeed.
As an atheist I don't belive in any gods. However the beauty of the natural world inspires awe and reverence. Theses wonderus, magestic parks are sacred ground. I hope to make a pilgremage to yosemite one day.
