Fairport Convention : Ballad Of Ned Kelly (live 1974)

Filmed on June 22 1974 at Birmingham University, UK by Guild TV (Birmingham University Film Club). Yes, the audio and video quality is poor but it's a rare video of a classic Fairport line-up: Sandy Denny / Dave Swarbrick / Jerry Donahue / Trevor Lucas / Dave Pegg / Dave Mattacks.

Trevor originally wrote and sang this song with Fotheringay, then brought it to Fairport. After being sped up and retitled "Poor Ned" by Redgum, it has become a standard with Australian bush bands ever since!

while Sandy was the Lady, we often forget about how great Trevor Lucas was and how sad it must have been for Georgia to lose her mother Sandy at age 1 and father Trevor at age 12. He was a great Australian folk ballads artist and I will miss him very much as well as the Utopian Sandy.
