Monte da Tramagueira Stud - Coudelaria Monte da Tramagueira

The stud operates from the Herdade da Tramagueira, in the municipal and county district of Beja, Portugal, as an agricultural operation geared to cattle, sheep and Lusitano purebred horse breeding activities, with great landscape and environmental principles. The stud's various areas of permanent meadowland, both unirrigated and irrigated, provide ideal conditions for our animals' proper development.

The stud currently has eight own brand Lusitano mares, with almost all of the breeding stock being daughters and granddaughters of NILO (M.V.) and OPUS 72 (M.V.). All have the VEIGA bloodline.

The following horses, who have proved themselves to be outstanding at the highest levels of the Lusitano breed, predominate in terms of our animals' genealogy: NILO (M.V.), OPUS72 (M.V.), XAQUIRO (Quina), FIRME (S.A.), UNIVERSO (M.V.), ZELADOR (M.A.C.), ELEITO (M.A.C.), SPARTACUS (CSM), IMPOSSÍVEL (BN), SOBERANO (GUB), HOSTIL (JGB) and ASSIRIO (FBC).

Actually, our stud is doing embrionary transfer from our best mare, with the following BORBA stallions, who are promoting lusitano breeding around the world: HOSTIL, RICO and SOBERANO.

We have concentrated on a painstakingly strict selection of stallions/broodmares, with the aim of breeding good natured horses with high levels of functionality, physical structure and slenderness, while never disregarding those characteristics which make the Lusitano such an unrivalled horse: BREEDING.

Our endeavours have been rewarded by several prizes in Model and Movements competitions at the International Lusitano Purebred Festival, Golegã Fair and OviBeja, as well as in England in the Royal Windsor Show, in adition to several horses with outstanding performances in dressage events and bullfighting.

Esta coudelaria encontra-se sediada na Herdade da Tramagueira, no concelho e distrito de Beja. Trata-se de uma exploração agrícola vocacionada para a criação de bovinos, ovinos e cavalos puro sangue lusitanos, com fortes preocupações no respeito pelo qualidade paisagística e sustentabilidade ambiental, dispondo a mesma de uma série de prados permanentes de sequeiro e regadio ideais para o correcto desenvolvimento e bem estar dos animais.

Actualmente a coudelaria possui oito éguas lusitanas de seu ferro, sendo a quase totalidade das reprodutoras, filhas e netas do cavalo NILO (M.V.) e OPUS 72 (M.V.), todas elas de linhagem VEIGA.

Na genealogia dos nossos produtos, estão presentes com grande predominância os seguintes cavalos que se têm destacado ao mais elevado nível na raça Lusitana: NILO (M.V.), OPUS72 (M.V.), XAQUIRO (Quina), FIRME (S.A.), UNIVERSO (M.V.), ZELADOR (M.A.C.), ELEITO (M.A.C.), SPARTACUS (CSM), IMPOSSÍVEL (BN), SOBERANO (GUB), HOSTIL (JGB) e ASSIRIO (FBC).

Actualmente a coudelaria encontra-se a realizar transferências de embriões da sua melhor égua, com os garanhões HOSTIL, SOBERANO e RICO, de ferro BORBA, que muito têm elevado a raça lusitano a nível mundial.

Temos vindo a apostar numa criteriosa e rigorosa selecção de reprodutores/as, tendo em vista a obtenção de cavalos com elevada funcionalidade, bom temperamento, estrutura física e finura, nunca perdendo de vista as características que fazem do Lusitano um cavalo ímpar: a RAÇA.

Prova disso são alguns prémios que já temos obtido em concursos de Modelo e Andamentos no Festival Internacional do Puro Sangue Lusitano, na Feira Nacional da Golegã e na OviBeja, bem como em Ingaterra no Royal Windsor Show, para além de alguns cavalos que estão a destacar-se na modalidade de ensino e na Tauromaquia.
