JAMES LAST didn't burst forth on the popular music scene with a fanfare of trumpets and explosions of fire-work. He just sort of emerged in a quiet cloak of talent. For three years running LAST was voted best bass player in a German jazz poll. But the minute he found out that having an orchestra and being able to experiment with hit songs was much more satisfying and rewarding, JAMES LAST was on the way to becoming a true giant in the world of today popular music. The remarkable abilities as a bass player are only part of his musical talent. He also is an accomplished songwriter, arranger and bandleader.
