Located in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona our mission is to provide affordable spay/neuter for companion animals and free-roaming cats with the goal of ending euthanasia as a form of population control.
Our History:
1999 - AzCATs founded to assist community in Trap, Neuter & Return (TNR) of free-roaming/feral cats
2003 - Altered Tails incorporated to facilitate spay/neuter of companion animals and free-roaming, primarily feral cats through collaborations with local veterinarians
2006 - Altered Tails purchases mobile veterinary clinic which traveled to different communities to provide them with affordable sterilization services
2007 - Bea and Dick Barnhart donate a building at 950 W Hatcher Road, to be the future site of the Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic
2008-09 - AzCATs and Altered Tails merge as Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic opened
Altered Tails Barnhart Clinic is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit organization, and is supported solely by donations.
