From the Sacramento City Fire Department Press Release:
3 Alarm Fire at Old California Youth Authority Facility
Sacramento- a three alarm fire destroyed two abandoned buildings in the old California Youth Authority facility on Ramona Avenue. The fire was reported shortly after midnight and Sacramento Firefighters were on scene in a little over five minutes.
The fire had already burned through the roof of both buildings as Firefighters went to a "Defensive Attack" to put out this suspicious blaze. Over seventy five Firefighters responded.
The fire is being investigated by Arson Investigators from the State Fire Marshalls Office due to this property being owned by the California State University of Sacramento. There were no reported injuries. Firefighters from Sacramento Metro Fire also responded
I did my student internship at dorm one 93-94 while attending Sac State. This place was pack with wards from all over the state doing their pretrial sentencing before they permanently got placed at other CYA institutions. I drove by a couple months ago, and its all level out.

I wonder if it was arson. That place has probably made some pretty bad memories for some people.
