This presentation is intended to assist anyone interested in better understanding sonata form: each section of the piece is identified with a specific picture and title defining its location in sonata form. The pictures are all from the Arduaine Gardens by Oban in Scotland (except for the entrance to the wall garden which was taken at Dunvegan Castle, and "the Queen's view").

  • What is a 'tonal area'? Am not familiar at all with this term/concept.

  • @dodgeballdude27 "Tonal Area" describes the key in which a particular section of the piece occurs. For a major piece, these areas are usually tonic or dominant.

  • The sonata form tips are really helpful. Thanks.

  • I'm glad to help!

  • Very clean and exellent players!!!

But too fast (for my opinion)

The tempo is truly "Allegro" but we are talking about "The Spring sonate" More tranquility and rubato.

  • This is a bit too fast for my tastes; but it's very smooth. Since it's spring, I personally think that instead of serenity and keeping it slow it should be more youthful, since things are techically springing to life. Great job though! :D

  • WOWWW. So damn beautiful.

  • Thank you for the upload.

Could you please give more pieces of information on this piece? Which opus number has it? And which key? Thank you.

  • Who are the performers?

  • Too damn fast. Tasteless.
